1141. Indian Army launches ‘Operation SHIVA’ to ensure safe Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir
- Jammu and Kashmir govt on 17 July 2025, morning suspended the pilgrimage to Amarnath shrine from the Jammu, Pahalgam, and Baltal base camps till the tracks, damaged due to incessant rain, are repaired.
- BRO has deployed men and machinery to repair the tracks for the resumption of the yatra on July 18, 2025.
- Army rescued about 500 pilgrims stranded in landslides triggered by heavy rain. About 2.5 lakh pilgrims have performed darshan at the cave shrine in the first 15 days of the 38-day yatra through the traditional Pahalgam route and the shorter Baltal route.
- The Indian Army responded swiftly, reaching the affected site without delay. Rescue operations were immediately launched, and the troops provided food, medical aid, and other necessary assistance to stranded Yatris, ensuring their safety and well-being during this critical time.

1143. Army Deploys Chopper To Rescue Boy Trapped In Flood In J&K's Rajouri
- In a high-risk rescue operation, the Indian Army, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police, and civilian divers, successfully rescued a minor boy who was trapped in the middle of a flooded river in Rajouri.
- The incident occurred following heavy rainfall in the region, which led to the sudden rise in water levels of the Rajouri river. Eyewitnesses reported the boy had become stranded on a rock in the middle of the surging waters, with no escape route as the current intensified.
- Upon receiving the alert, a joint rescue operation was launched. Local administration swiftly coordinated efforts with SDRF and police units, while the Indian Army was called in for aerial support due to the precarious nature of the situation.

1144. Over 60, including several soldiers, missing as flash floods wreak havoc in Uttarkashi
- On 5 August 2025, Several casualties are feared as flash floods and a massive debris slide swept away hotels, shops, and restaurants in Dharali village of Uttarkashi on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, the District Magistrate had confirmed four casualties.
- According to initial reports, around 40-50 houses have been washed away, and more than 50 people are estimated to be missing.
- The IBEX Brigade of the Indian Army, camping at Harsil, rushed to the spot in 10 minutes and began rescue operations.
- The Indian Air Force has been contacted for aerial support. “Beds have been reserved at nearby government hospitals and at AIIMS, Dehradun. A sufficient number of ambulances have been mobilised. Residents in at-risk areas are being evacuated to safer locations.

1145. GRSE delivers second anti-submarine warfare shallow watercraft to Indian Navy
- On September 13, 2025, Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd delivered ‘Androth,’ the second anti-submarine warfare shallow watercraft, to the Indian Navy in Kolkata, just months after delivering the first ship, ‘Arnala.’
- Built by GRSE as part of an Indian Navy order for 16 ASWSWCs, these ships are equipped with indigenous 30 mm naval surface guns, combat management systems, and advanced capabilities for surveillance, search, and coordinated anti-submarine operations.
- All eight GRSE-built ASWSWCs have been launched, with ‘Androth’ being the second delivered. The vessels can deploy lightweight torpedoes and anti-submarine warfare rockets, significantly strengthening India’s maritime security in coastal waters.

- On September 13, 2025, Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for 19 development projects worth over ₹7,300 crore in Churachandpur, Manipur, including urban roads, IT development, healthcare, and highway projects.

1147. India becomes 3rd largest exporter of agrochemicals in the world, total exports stand at $3.3 billion for FY2025
- On September 11, 2025, a Deloitte and ACFI report confirmed India’s emergence as the world’s 3rd largest agrochemical exporter, with exports worth $3.3 billion in FY 2025, behind only China and the United States.
- India’s agrochemical exports have grown 153% since 2014–15, when they stood at $1.3 billion. The market, valued at ₹69,000 crore in FY 2024, is driven by insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators.
- Exports account for 51% of India’s agrochemical market value, with Maharashtra and Goa leading sales. ACFI urged the government to provide tax holidays and introduce a PLI scheme to further boost industry growth and competitiveness.

1148. Mizoram: PM Modi Inaugurates Rs 9,000-Crore Development Projects In Aizawl

1149. Indian Army, Civil Administration launch rescue, relief operations after landslide in Angrim Valley
- Following a landslide caused by a cloudburst in Angrim Valley on the night of August 16-17, 2025, Indian Army troops from Spear Corps, along with the Civil Administration, carried out swift rescue and relief efforts.
- Triggered by intense overnight rains, the cloudburst caused massive landslides that buried homes, blocked key routes, and left several villagers stranded in the remote valley. In response, brave troops of the Indian Army sprang into action at first light, coordinating closely with the civil administration to reach the affected areas.
- The Army also distributed emergency relief material, including food packets, drinking water, blankets, and medical supplies to affected families. Their presence brought not just help but hope to the frightened residents who had lost shelter and security overnight.

1150. Army aviation wing flies for over 250 hours; rescues 5,000 civilians, 300 paramilitary personnel from flood-affected states
- The Indian Army has flown over 250 hours in twenty aircraft, including Mi-17s, and a Chinook and have rescued more than 5,000 civilians and 300 paramilitary personnel from flood-affected areas in Punjab, J&K and Himachal Pradesh.
- The army have also air-dropped approximately 21 tons of relief material, including food packets, medicines and essential commodities to cut-off villages.
- The operations, which began on August 16 and 17, 2025, involved 47 army columns, including engineers, medical teams, and communication personnel, working in close collaboration with the civil authorities, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
